Research & Consultancy

To arrive at the right on-line solution, we need to understand your business or organisation.

  • What is your market?
  • Who are your customers?
  • Do they have specialist needs?
  • What are your products or services?
  • Who are your competitors? How are you different?
  • What are your key messages?

Armed with this knowledge, we can undertake the further research and analysis needed to provide the perfect blueprint for your on-line presence.

WebXpress believes in using the right technology for the right job. If that means using an off the shelf package to deliver a cost effective solution or the developing a bespoke on-line application that fits our client's requirements like a glove, we can do both.

There could be reasons why a Microsoft platform is chosen, for instance if close integration with an existing back-office system is needed. Alternatively, using Open Source technologies might be needed if performance and reliability are required on a tight budget.

WebXpress has experience in developing web sites for both the ASP.NET and LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) platforms.

As with most IT projects, a successful website is usually far longer in the planning than in the constructing. It pays to map out in detail the functional requirements for a site before a single line of code is written. It is only after this that the best technology choices will become apparent.

Finally, a website is rarely a stand-alone marketing tool. It should be integrated with your branding and dovetail with other strategic marketing initiatives. WebXpress's marketing team will work with you to ensure your website works hand-in-hand with advertising or other promotions.

Project process

Once you have chosen WebXpress to work with you, we will set about creating the perfect blueprint for your website.

As part of this process, we will:

  • Establish who you want to visit your site, and their needs
  • Map out the site's intended content and architecture
  • Examine the feedback given to the user at every stage
  • Explore how the user would interact with every screen
  • Look at legibility
  • Look at the scalability
  • Check download times of the site
  • Explore technical feasibility and constraints
  • Check consistency of site style including fonts, headings, feedback, design , labels etc.
  • Undertake competitor research

Once these criteria are agreed, we will embark on the design, build, testing and launch stages of the project.

Investing time in the early project definition phases will ensure the production cycle is cost effective and delivers the best possible solution.
